It’s easy to feel isolated and alone when you are a new mom faced with the many challenges that go with the territory. Add to that moving to a new place without friends or family and it can be overwhelming. Sometimes a friendly smile, word of encouragement or reaffirming advice can be just the ticket.
This is what Katy Moms Network founders Audrey Zeter and Natalie Thomas had in mind when they launched a web based initiative that includes a calendar of mostly free local events for kids, mom’s outings, study groups, themed clubs, festivals, resources, such as child care, schools, tutoring, and beauty to name just a few, deals and steals, a blog, and other local information to keep moms in the know.
The moms came together after meeting as neighbors and forming a close friendship. With two kids each that are close in age, everything just seemed to click. Realizing the importance of friendships and helping each other navigate life, inspired them to reach out to others. They established their website in June of 2018 and have attracted over 7,500 followers on social media alone.
To get started, area moms can sign up for the Katy Moms Network newsletter at katymomsnetwork.com, follow them on Instagram and Facebook, attend meet-ups and events and take advantage of the array of helpful information they have curated.
