Memorial City Mall Tree Lighting
The Memorial City Holiday Season officially begins on Saturday, November 16th with Memorial City Lights powered by ENGIE Resources. The fun starts at 4pm with the pre-show party in The Square, with live music, games and an appearance by the 8-foot tall Memorial City Reindeer. Then bring the family to the Xfinity Fireplace for the main event starting at 6:30pm! There will be performances from TUTS Humphrey’s School of Musical Theatre and Learning The Ropes jump rope team. Then enjoy the story of a pair of North Pole elves who go on a worldwide search for the perfect gift for Santa, while learning how other cultures celebrate the holidays. Santa himself will make his grand entrance and magically illuminate 3.5 million lights across Memorial City. Galleria Tree Lighting
On November 9th, the Galleria will host its 31st annual tree lighting event. From 12:00pm to 6:00pm free admission to the show will occur. The runner up from season 16 of NBC’s The Voice, Gyth Rigdon will be performing his country hits through the night. A spectacular group of professional skaters will perform for the night. Those highlighted skaters include four-time Danish Senior National Champion and 3-time World Championships competitor Erin Reed, Karina Sinding Johnson, and United States National Junior and Senior National competitor Joe Goreck. Houston Ballet Nutcracker
The Houston Ballet will begin its annual performance of The Nutcracker on November 29th. Stanton Welch’s production of The Nutcracker is something that you don’t want to miss. Following the most traditional holiday tale of Clara and Drosselmeyer’s journey to the Land of Sweets where the magic happens. With stunning costumes and decorations, the production features an entire company of dancers as well as Houston Ballet Academy students. The show runs through December 29th. Alley Theater A Christmas Carol
Beginning on November 15th, Alley Theater’s A Christmas Carol returns to the stage. The ghost story of Christmas retells Charles Dicken’s classic story, following the journey of Ebenezer Scrooge’s Christmas Eve visit from three ghostly spirits. The story shows a powerful message about redemption and the spirit of the holiday season. Turkey Trot
On November 28th, the BakerRipley Houston Turkey Trot will hold three separate races to appeal to runners of different age levels and experience. Ranging from 1K to 10K, each race will be held at various times. The Turkey Trot is an annual event that supports the mission of BakerRipley, a nonprofit that has served this region for 112 years. Discovery Green On The Ice – Powered by Green Mountain Energy
Beginning November 15th, embrace your holiday spirit on the ICE! On November 22nd, head to the rink for the opening celebration.
