The Maples aims to please when it comes to offering a large selection of breakfast and lunch items. Located in a strip center on Highland Knolls close to the Grand Parkway, it has all the makings of a family-friendly neighborhood dining spot.
Pancakes (which they tout as an especially good version) are homemade buttermilk and you can choose from blueberry, strawberry, apple, banana or chocolate chip. They also offer French Toast, corned beef, waffles, breakfast burritos, and breakfast special plates that include popular breakfast items. A classic Eggs Benedict is offered as a weekend only special so make sure you know what is available during the week versus the weekend if you are planning a big breakfast. The menu also include a wide variety of omelette and side orders.
If you are more interested in lunch, you will find a good representation of salads, soups, specialty sandwiches and burgers.
I like the description of the Reuben, hot pastrami, or one of the burgers. You are able to substitute onion rings or sweet potato fries for the standard fries, but there is a slight up charge. The remaining menu offerings include club sandwiches and wraps. Two desserts listed as grapenut custard pudding and bread pudding. The owners of this new Katy restaurant are originally from Ecuador and will add another good option for Katy diners that appreciate family-owned and operated businesses within our rapidly expanding list of dining spots.
